How Students / Parents and Carers Choose Electives
- Elective choices will be sent home in an email to student email accounts.
- Selections will open as of 6pm on a Friday, giving students the weekend to talk through their options with parents before submitting their choices.

- We have afforded Parents and Carers this opportunity to choose elective subjects with their children so that students make an informed choice regarding their pathway and interests.
- Students will be asked to select three (3) elective preferences for two class lines. This helps us place students into classes they are genuinely interested in.
- Where students do not receive their elective preference/s, we will place them on a waitlist.
- We aim to have students in classes they have elected.
- Selections will then close the following Tuesday at Midday.
Class Change Requests
As we work hard to create balanced classes and provide the best possible experience for all students, class changes will only be considered in specific circumstances, such as:
- Where there is a genuine wellbeing concern and where there is supporting evidence that suggests a class change is favourable. Evidence includes but is not limited to Psychologist recommendations, Occupational Therapists recommendations and other treating professional recommendations.
- Where a change is required by the school due to operational needs.
If a class change is needed, requests must be submitted via the Front Office Email with the subject line "Elective Change Request STUDENT NAME & YEAR LEVEL" - UCHSKaleen.information@ed.act.edu.au.
Please note that email requests will not be considered unless it is sent to the Front Office Email, as this helps us manage all requests fairly and consistently. Please avoid contacting staff directly for class changes.
