Bring Your Own Device

Since the start of 2015, UCHSK has been moving toward students working with the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy, in line with school ICT growth across the country. We are very excited about the learning opportunities BYOD offers students as evidence shows that the use of BYOD has great value in deepening and enriching personalised, student-centred learning.

Year nine and ten UCHSK students are required to bring their own device or the school can provide a Chromebook (for school use only and with a small maintenance fee).  Year seven and eight students are also encouraged to BYOD.  Students and their parents must complete and return a signed Acceptable Use Student Agreement before students can participate in the school’s use of the BYOD program. Students are also reminded that they are responsible for managing the battery life of their personal electronic devices and should ensure that devices are fully charged for the duration of the school day, before bringing them to school. Schools are not responsible for access to BYOD charging facilities. Further information on BYOD policy can be found on the ACT ETD website.
