All UC High School Kaleen staff are recruited through the ACT Department of Education and Training. School Principals are part of the coordinated selection process and we seek to employ, develop and retain staff of the highest calibre.

In line with the ACT Government Teachers Staff Collective Agreement staff undertake professional learning during stand down periods. In addition the Teacher Professional Pathways initiative specifies that staff pursue their own life-long learning through professional development and further study. The ACT Department of Education and Training is further committed to the development of quality teachers in 2008 and 2009 through the priority implementation of the Quality Teaching Model (QTM). All staff at Kaleen High School are actively using this system tool to reflect on and improve their teaching practices.
